The Machine to Be Another is a long-term investigation into the relationship between identity and empathy inspired by recent findings in neuroscience. The Machine to Be Another uses low- budget tools and embodiment techniques to let people see through the eyes of another, attempting to get as close as possible to replicating the subjective experience of someone else. It allows users to embody real people and real stories. A Creative Commons initiative, it has been replicated and applied in contexts ranging from art performances to conflict resolution, neuroscience and beyond.
