Created in 1962, INSAS, a school of the network of Belgium’s French speaking community in the field of performing arts includes two departments, audiovisual and theatre, from which arise personalities such as Jaco Van Dormael, Michel Khleifi, Chantal Akerman, Bruno Nuytten, Jean-Jacques Andrien, Philippe Geluck, Charles Berling, etc. The pedagogy, in a common approach of the artistic work, fosters group learning of the instrumental practice with critical thoughts about it and obliges the students to a wholesome exercise of reflection and choice, preparing them both socially and artistically.
