Welcome to Wacken, the biggest metal festival in the world. The three-day event features raging guitars, pounding drums and 80,000 fans who come together every year from all over the world to pay tribute to their gods by headbanging like crazy, show off their tattoos and, depending on the weather, joyfully wallow in the mud.

Wacken 3D, shot with twenty 3D stereoscopic cameras, jumps back and forth between musicians and fans. The film is a rapturous account of a one-of-a-kind event, perfectly capturing an incredible tribal gathering that’s like a cross between a mystical pilgrimage and a summer camp for very naughty children (there’s even a pool!).
